🇪🇺 Albanian Cinematheque Artist-in-Residence Jon Jost travelled across three continents and completed a feature film since he last visited Albania in 2024. This time, Jost returns for an intimate In Conversation series, sharing his meditative work in celebration of Tirana Art Weekend 2025, bridging his love of painting and experimental digital works. Selected are Jost’s single screen installation piece, the abstract TRINITY (2012), along with the hypnotic CANYON (2013), BOWMAN LAKE (2014) and YELLOWSTONE CANYON (2019). An Albanian Cinematheque presentation in collaboration with AVAN and Film-protufilm, Zagreb. Emerging on the cinema scene in the 1960’s, Chicago-born director, writer, cinematographer and editor Jon Jost (b. 1943) has crafted an intensely singular body of experimental film work that is often politically charged. A true maverick, Jon Jost is the very definition of an independent filmmaker, the first director recipient of the Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award for Lifetime Achievement. Over six decades, the Berlinale-winning Jost has made over 60 groundbreaking feature and short films.
