Tirana Art Week(end)

Tirana Art Week(end) was held between 28 Nov – 8 Dec 2024. It has proven to be a resounding success, captivating audiences from Albania and beyond in the capital.
The journey began in spring 2023, when 10 representatives of Albania’s independent art scene traveled to Stockholm, invited by the ArtNexus programme, for workshops and discussions focused on building an association that could unite the art community.
By spring 2024, these efforts culminated in the Vlora Art Meeting, leading to the establishment of the Albanian Visual Arts Network (AVAN).
As AVAN’s first major initiative, Tirana Art Week launched in November 2024 and exceeded all expectations. Featuring over 12 venues and 20 activities across the city, the event showcased exhibitions, talks, and performances entirely free and open to the public. The public response was overwhelming, prompting organizers to extend the weekend into a full week.
